Full time, Monday to Thursday, 8am – 5.30pm and Friday 8am - 4.30pm.
About the role
As an Arnold Clark Alloy Wheel Technician, it will be your role to carry out small repairs and paintwork to alloy wheels, as well as milling and cutting diamond-cut alloys.
The right person for the role should be energetic and self-motivated. It’s important that you can work on your own initiative, and have great people skills.
Day-to-day duties
- Preparing alloy wheels for paintwork.
- Carrying out small alloy wheel repairs.
- Removing and refitting tyres.
- Balancing wheels after they’ve been repaired.
- Mixing paint to apply to wheels.
- Applying paint products correctly and to a high standard.
Essential skills
- A good eye for detail.
- The ability to multi-task.
- Willingness to work on your own initiative.

The below is the criteria to qualify for the performance bonus payment and the SMART BPR criteria:
- You must be a SMART technician or an apprentice in third or fourth year.
- On joining Arnold Clark, you must be signed up to SMART BPR and work a contracted 44-hour week. You will be given details of this when you join.
- This bonus is accrued based on yearly performance, with each year’s pot being held until the end of year three.
- Direct profit – you’ll need to achieve a direct profit of at least 100%.
- Time keeping and attendance – ensure you have no more than three instances of absence or lateness.
- Additional hours – you need to work 52 hours overtime in a six-month period. That equates to just two hours per week; and best of all, it’s paid at time and a half.
- Resigning or being dismissed before the end of any three-year period would result in no payment being made.
- Arnold Clark reserves the right to amend, change or cancel this performance scheme at any time.
