We’re looking to recruit a Telephonist to work at Central Car Auctions in Baillieston, Glasgow.

Hours

Full time: Monday – Friday, alternating between 8.30am – 6pm and 8.30am – 5.30pm

About the role

Our Telephonist will deal with our customer enquiries in a friendly, professional manner, ensuring the customer experience is seamless from start to finish.

As a Telephonist, you will work with a diverse team of CCA employees throughout the auction journey. You will engage with all departments on a daily basis. The role would be a great fit for someone who enjoys a varied workload in a fast-paced environment. You will have the ability to communicate at all levels and be extremely well-organised.

Day-to-day duties

  • Communicating with departments, management, and stakeholders throughout the business.
  • Managing a very large volume of customer calls for the branch.
  • Ensuring calls are dealt with effectively and efficiently.
  • Answering inbound calls for all departments.
  • Providing the highest level of customer service.
  • General administration duties when required.
  • Logging information and managing internal systems.


Essential skills

  • A high level of accuracy and ability to multi-task during peak periods
  • A fantastic telephone manner
  • A genuine interest in delivering excellent service
  • Good computer literacy and accurate keyboard skills
  • Enjoy working with the public, both face to face and on the telephone
  • The confidence to work independently and also as part of a team
  • The ability to work well under pressure

Nice to have but not essential

  • Knowledge of Kingfisher is required for the role, but training may be provided for the right candidate.
