We’re looking for an experienced and organised Senior Monitoring Officer for our new Alarm Receiving Centre in Glasgow.

As a Senior Monitoring Officer, you will be the first point of contact in an emergency situation, responsible for supervising staff in the day-to-day-running of this brand-new, leading-edge ARC.

As the security of Arnold Clark’s multiple premises is in your hands, this responsible leadership role will require you to have high levels of organisation, the ability to manage a team under pressure and vigilant attention to detail, whether you’re monitoring CCTV or writing reports. Excellent interpersonal skills are also a must.

Your day-to-day duties

•    Supervising and supporting the ARC team, making sure alarm signals are responded to promptly, courteously and effectively.
•    Acting as the first point of contact for the public, emergency services and clients.
•    Dealing politely and effectively with visitors, representatives and contractors.
•    Monitoring CCTV equipment as and when required.
•    Helping the ARC Manager to develop and implement processes in line with regulatory requirements to support and train staff.
•    Monitoring calls to assess standards of service and make improvements if necessary.
•    Carrying out daily inspections in line with BS5979.
•    Making sure technical faults are recorded and rectified to agreed timescales.
•    Ensuring information remains confidential in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

Essential requirements

•    The ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people, even in pressurised situations.
•    Previous supervisory experience in a busy call-handling environment.
•    Knowledge of the alarm monitoring industry and reporting systems.
•    Fantastic literacy and numeracy skills.
•    Proven ability to write accurate reports to deadlines.
•    The flexibility and stamina to stay alert and perform efficiently for long shifts, based on the needs of the business.
•    Relevant SIA licence
•    Ability to comply with security screening to BS 7858 standard.

Hours: 12-hour day and night shifts, 4 days on/4 days off (full time)

Skills or experience that are non-essential, or in which training can be given:

•    Training will be provided for the right candidate.
•    An understanding of alarm monitoring software is desirable.

In exchange for your security expertise, you’ll benefit from excellent working conditions and one of the best employee packages in the industry, including extensive training, private healthcare and life assurance.
Employment within the Arnold Clark Group is offered subject to satisfactory reference and disclosure check.

Only successful candidates will be contacted for interview.
