Hours

Full time: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm

A degree of flexibility can be expected, and successful candidates will form part of an out-of-hours on-call rota. Occasional late shift duties will also be required.

Location

This role is based at our Birtley Motorstore but will require travel around the Arnold Clark UK branch network where overnight stays may be required.

About the role

As a Regional Security Manager, you will oversee daily proactive security checks across our branch network, issuing advice and support when required. You will conduct security audits, liaise with police and other agencies and work with internal stakeholders on various security projects.

We’re looking for someone with experience in the security industry and strong communication skills. You will also be adept at dealing with confidential information and supervising a team of security staff.

Day-to-day duties

  • Carrying out daily proactive security checks within the region, issuing advice and support to our branches.
  • Assisting branches with the investigation of thefts and associated crimes on our sites.
  • Conducting security audits at our site to ensure full compliance with security standards.
  • Supporting our branches with the recovery of outstanding vehicles and other assets.
  • Liaison with police and other agencies.
  • Assisting Assure Alarms and our Group Estates department with building projects focussed on CCTV, intruder alarms, biometric key cabinets, lone worker applications, fencing and barriers and other ancillary security installations.
  • Attending site meetings both physically and on Teams calls.
  • Taking on security-based projects allocated by the Head of Security or the Deputy Head of Security.
  • Supervising both night shift and day shift security staff who are based at Birtley Motorstore.
  • Maintaining and updating the command-and-control system (Origami) on a daily basis.
  • Dealing with any other security-based enquiries generated by senior management, Directors or Head of Group security

Essential skills and experience

  • A proven background in the security industry or the police or armed forces
  • Strong communication skills
  • An ability to undertake complex enquiries and produce written reports
  • Proven background in management and leadership
  • IT knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential
  • A high level of confidentiality as candidates will have to submit themselves to external security vetting
  • A current driving licence is required
