GTG Training - Lead Quality Assurer
We’re looking for a fully qualified Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to fill a brand-new position at GTG as a Lead Quality Assurer.
Working across our Bus, Coach and Heavy Automotive programmes, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our learning and assessment practices meet all internal and external requirements. With at least three years’ experience of working in compliance and internal quality assurance, you’ll also have sound knowledge of apprenticeship standards, coaching techniques and safeguarding.
Hours
Full time: Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5.30pm (includes one hour for lunch).
Location
This role is remote and involves working from home and some national travel. You will also be required to attend our GTG Centre in Wolverhampton at least once per month.
About the role
Drawing upon your expertise, you will work closely with the Head of Quality and will be an integral part of the organisation’s quality cycle. You will ensure our processes, practices and interventions are completed effectively and efficiently.
The main purpose of the role is to undertake and manage assurance interventions and make sure the impact is measurable across GTG’s English provision.

Day-to-day duties
- Maintain appropriate records of quality assurance, assessment, intervention, registration, and certification activities in line with internal and external requirements.
- Organise and facilitate standardisation activities to support the continuous improvement of the learning journey.
- Ensure all assessment documentation, maintained by QAs, coaches and tutors, is complete, up to date and legible.
- Conduct observations of coaches undertaking learning, assessment, and coaching in the workplace.
- Conduct teaching and learning observations of tutors carrying out core delivery.
- Conduct learner, mentor and employer interviews to monitor and analyse the quality of the learning and assessment processes and the learner journey.
- Disseminate information and feedback resulting from intervention activities within agreed timescales.
- Complete interim and summative sampling reports in line with organisational quality assurance policies and procedures.
- Work with appropriate colleagues to ensure quality interventions impact curriculum improvement and sequencing.
- Work with appropriate colleagues to ensure the timely achievement of gateway and EPA.
- Analyse and utilise data relevant to the quality of teaching, learning, assessment, progress, and achievement.
- Support commercial course assurance activities.
- Develop and follow internal policies, operating procedures and documentation relevant to quality assurance practices.
- Work with operational managers and delivery staff to ensure identified development needs are addressed.
- Support with training/CPD activities to ensure all practitioners have the opportunity to develop their skills.
- Participate in GTGs employee reviews and professional development activities.
- Engage in marketing activities with employers and the wider community in line with GTG strategies (where relevant).
- Contribute to cross-GTG events.
- Adhere to GTG policies and procedures.
- Undertake any other duties that GTG considers appropriate.
Essential skills and qualifications
- Recognised Internal Quality Assurance award (D34, V1, IQA, TAQA L4).
- Recognised Assessor Award (D32, D33, TAQA or equivalent).
- Relevant Level 3 trade qualification.
- 3 – 5 years recent internal quality assurance experience.
- 3 – 5 years recent teaching and/or industry experience.
- A good understanding of the subject requirements of our Bus, Coach and Heavy automotive programmes.
- A good understanding of apprenticeship standards.
- Sound knowledge and experience of compliance, quality, verification, auditing and reporting.
- A good understanding of the EIF.
- A good understanding of safeguarding.
- A current, full driving licence.
- Demonstrate a commitment to equality and diversity, customer service and quality assurance.
- Good standard of IT and administrative skills.

- A good understanding of the subject requirements for light vehicle automotive programmes.
- Level 3 teaching qualification.
