As a result, we are seeking a talented and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our talented Digital Product Development team, based at our vibrant head office in Hillington (Glasgow).
About the role:
This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in some exciting and high-profile projects. As DevOps Engineer, you’ll have a key role in our cross-functional squads, influencing the technical approach we take to building, deploying and maintaining our digital products. You’ll helping to establish best practice around continuous integration and continuous deployment, while evangelising automation throughout the development process and infrastructure.
The successful candidate will have a passion for delivering high quality solutions and have a strong attention to detail. You should be driven and organised with exceptional problem-solving skills, as well as being a good communicator and a creative thinker. You will be used to working under pressure and have a positive outlook. You should have professional and/or academic certification in Linux and Network administration
Key duties:
• Empower development squads to build and deliver software solutions and services
• Utilize infrastructure-as-code to deliver automated, predictable and scalable solutions, infrastructure and services
• Evangelise automated, fault-tolerant and secure developments and practices
• Maintain running services through monitoring & measure service performance
• Engage with cross disciplined squads to design, automate and deliver over the full software development lifecycle.
Key skills:
• Expert knowledge of CI / CD pipelines with Jenkins. GoCD and others
• Containerisation with Docker and Kubernetes, including cluster design, deployment & management
• Azure / AWS administration, deployment & monitoring
• Expert Linux Administration and bash scripting, particularly with RHEL & CentOS
• Infrastructure-as-code via Terraform and Ansible
• Development experience with one of more of Python, Ruby, .Net, Java
• MySQL / MariaDB / Galera cluster design, deployment, tuning & management
• EventStore deployment & management
• HAProxy deployment and availability tuning
• Nagios / Incinga / New Relic
• L2/L3 networking
• Redis
• ELK Stack
• vSphere / VMWare
• experience with Google Cloud Platform
