We’re looking for an enthusiastic Part-Time Cashier to join our Wakefield Motorstore.

Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 12.30pm.
About the role
The role focuses on maintaining an accurate report of our store’s takings. This includes taking the banking from the safe, logging it onto a spreadsheet and posting that information into the Kerridge system. You will then need to review and clear down the cash account, marking off all the receipts in the PC's receipts books.
Other duties will involve processing refunds to customers and registering purchase ledger invoices if time allows.
This role would suit someone with accounts experience and with a meticulous eye for detail. The ideal candidate will be experienced in Microsoft Excel and will have excellent time management skills.
Day-to-day duties
- Take the receipts and cash out of the safe with another person and tie them back to the cash log.
- Enter all information onto a spreadsheet to tie back to the cash log and Z totals off the PDQ machines.
- Post the cash onto Kerridge and then match balances on the cash sales accounts and chase sales for any outstanding debtors.
- Sign off all the sales receipts books for audit purposes.
- Process the refunds back to customers on the PDQ machines.
- Register invoices on Kerridge to relevant managers, so they can approve them.
Essential skills
- A high level of accuracy
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office with experience of using Excel spreadsheets
- Strong communication skills to be able to chase PCs for debtors
- Accounts knowledge to be able to post cash into Kerridge
- Flexibility
- Sense of humour
