Hours

Full time: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8.30am – 6pm and Tuesday and Thursday, 8.30am – 5.30pm (44 hours per week)

About the role

As an Admin Assistant, you will manage the day-to-day processing of paperwork and payments for the auction and deal with customers both face to face and on the telephone. You will provide clerical support in a fast-moving environment, ensuring vehicles are booked into stock accurately and all documentation is checked thoroughly.

As an Admin Assistant, you will work with a diverse team of Central Car Auctions employees throughout the auction journey. You will engage with all departments on a daily basis. The role would be a great fit for someone who enjoys a varied workload in a fast-paced environment. You will have the ability to communicate at all levels and be extremely well-organised.

Day-to-day duties

  • Data entry – booking vehicles into stock accurately
  • Payments
  • Serve customers both face to face at the counter and on the telephone
  • Prepare and match up all vehicle documentation
  • Deal with any queries via email or telephone
  • Filing
  • Update reports
  • Engage with all departments to meet auction schedule
  • General administration duties as and when required


Essential skills

  • A high level of accuracy and ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication skills
  • Computer literate with good grasp of Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Enjoy working with the public, both face to face and on the telephone
  • The confidence to work independently and also as part of a big team
  • Well-organised with the ability to ensure all deadlines and tasks are completed

Nice to have but not essential

  • Previous customer service experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Teams
